A tour for the botanically insatiable.

First, some spectacular views from
Fort Frederick, with the south and west coasts spread out before you, the capital, St. George's, below you, and history all around you.
Next, we plunge you into the jungle-like setting of
Bay Gardens, to walk you around the botanical diversity of the Island. Not so much pretty flowering plants and shrubs: they are in the ‘Homes and Gardens’ tour - more a glorious cacophony of whatever will grow here. Nature is responsible for the layout. There is a great deal to be seen.

We move on to
Laura, with a selection of fruit (citrus, cocoa, sapodilla…) and spice trees (cinnamon, nutmeg, pimento…) There is also an area dedicated to medicinal herbs. You knew that ginger was good for stomach upsets and aloe vera for sunburn; but here there is so much else that has been tried and tested over generations. There are cures for fever, colds, skin complaints, insomnia, diarrhoea; Laura is Nature's pharmacy.
We finish at
La Sagesse – an idyllic beach, with time for bathing; and a fine restaurant, where we leave you to choose (and pay for) your own lunch. Alternatively - bring a packed lunch from your hotel. The journey back takes you along the scenic scenic south coast route, with views to Calivigny and Hog Islands.
