Grenada on Foot

We would like to make claims about eco-tourism, but the more we hear about it, the less we know what it means. We will take you through areas of natural vegetation, undisturbed except for a bit of ruffling by the recent hurricanes; to isolated waterfalls and superb views, where you can see for yourself the diverse vegetation and the beautiful, mountainous landscape of this once-volcanic island.

Needless to say, we are committed to disturbing as little as possible.
If you enjoy dropping litter or uprooting plants, stay at home.

L04: Seven Sisters - Walk to St. Margaret Falls

This is Grenada's most popular rainforest walk.

Seven Sister WaterfallsYou will need walking shoes with some tread, and you will want to take insect repellent and a drink, so a small rucksack is useful. Take swimming things for a dip in the pool.

This walk is muddy in the rainy season, so do not come in your best clothes! It is not a difficult walk, but there will be some careful balancing required as you cross a stream on rounded stepping stones. You will need to be averagely fit and to have reasonable balancing ability.

Some guests think this is a Sunday afternoon stroll: others find it an arduous and slippery route march. It all depends on your walking experience. The truth is somewhere in between!

Hiking time: approx. 60 minutes / Total tour time: approx. 4 hours

Gentle Walks

annandale walk

Gentle walks through undemanding terrain can nevertheless expose you to a variety of landscapes and vegetation types.
These walks are meant to be taken at a gentle pace.

You will need light walking shoes, maybe a hat (there is not tree cover everywhere,) and something to carry drinks in. Long trousers (or pants, if you are American) can be sensible, because some 'bush' will try to scratch you.)
